The Easiest Way to Find a 5K Run Near You

My favorite database of races is Running in the USA. It is an online database of all 5K runs in the USA (very appropriately named, isn't it). When you click the link above, it'll take you to a map of the USA. Simply click the state that you want to run your 5K in and it'll bring you to a page where you'll see a list of filters. Select the month that you're interested in, the distance (5K, obviously, but they do have other race lengths as well).

You can also narrow down your search by city, location, and there is a virtual option as well if you're interested. Then it'll show you a list of all the upcoming 5Ks with your chosen criteria. Running in the USA is a phenomenal resource, especially for new runners looking to start off with races. It is also great for experienced runners who are looking for unique races such as trail run races, half marathon races, or races in a location that are outside your usual city.

Other Ways to Find a 5K Run

If you live near a big city, you will most definitely have a road running clubs in your city. I live in New York and run most of my races with the New York Road Runners. My very first race with the roadrunners was actually a 5k run that I found off of running in the USA .

On your local road running website, they'll likely have a calendar of races that they're hosting. You might also see advertisement for a 5K run around town or in your local newspaper.
